Cha had just parked her car when her cell phone rang. She didn’t know the number, but answered anyway.

“Hello.”

“Hey, beautiful. It’s Ya-Ya,” he announced.

Cha rolled her eyes; she knew he would be calling. But she put up a front. “Hey, Ya-Ya, what’s good?”

“I wanna see you,” he stated.

“I see. When?”

“Tonight, let’s go out,” he suggested.

“Tonight . . . umm, I could do tonight. What time though?”

“I’ll come scoop you up around ten. I know this spot uptown that you’ll like . . . wear something nice,” he said.

“I got you . . . you like your women classy, but also nasty,” she stated.

“See, that’s why I fucks with you. You read my mind. We think just alike,” he joked.

“I’ll be ready for you tonight. Don’t keep me waiting, handsome.”

“I won’t.”

Cha gave Ya-Ya an address, then hung up and sighed. She decided to skip the club tonight and put her plan into action with Ya-Ya. She strutted into the lobby and wanted to get some rest before Ya-Ya called. She wasn’t stupid to have him pick her up from her actual place. She gave him a phony address and would meet him there.

Cha walked into her apartment, kicked off her shoes, and plopped down on the couch. She looked around her crib and enjoyed the silence. Cha had no pictures of her parents, her childhood days, or any indication of friends or relatives posted on her walls, or anywhere in her place. David asked her why one day. She told him that she cared to forget about her past and just wanted to move on. David tried to be understanding for Cha, but she just wouldn’t let him get in close to her life.

Cha took a needed shower and changed into a long flowing skirt, a sexy halter top, and open-toe sandals. She pinned her hair up into a bun and looked amazing for the night. She grabbed a few personal things, including her .22, and walked outside feeling like a million bucks.

Cha told Ya-Ya that she lived a few blocks away, near Broadway. She parked her car in a garage and strutted to the false address she gave. She walked into the lobby with her Chanel purse tucked under her arm and waited. She stood patiently for about twenty minutes when she noticed a dark blue Yukon turning the corner with serious blinding high beams.

Something in her stomach said that it was Ya-Ya. She kept her eyes fixated on the truck and when it double parked near the lobby she was standing in, Cha was sure that it was Ya-Ya.

Ya-Ya stepped out his high-end truck clad in a stylish three-piece dark blue suit that matched his truck. He got on his cell phone and dialed Cha. Cha heard her phone ringing in her purse and quickly picked up.

“You outside?” she asked, already knowing that he was.

“Yeah, babe . . . I’m out here waiting for your presence,” he said.

“I’ll be down in one minute.”

Cha hung up. She stood hidden in the lobby, out of Ya-Ya’s view.
